Haiti -The Center for Studies and Cooperation (CECI) announced this week that the first world village will be built in Haiti, an initiative of the Canadian Cooperation and Haitian-Canadian born Luck Mervil.
The houses will be built to meet seismic standard and hurricane resistant. This village will accommodate up to 5,000 people.
According to Luck Mervil, the construction will begin in September, and it will last between 8-12 months.

Haiti-Reconstruction: The Haitian government oks the kick start of the draft for Thomonde City
May 10, 2010 –The Haitian government gave the green light to develop the city of Thomonde to kick start the decentralization process.
Thomonde is at the center city of the central plateau, and it will serve the existing village and commercial center for agriculture. 250 houses will be built on 150 hectares of land, and 500 by 2011.
